Today has seemingly been the busiest day of travel, but very little was done. We spent the majority of the day in the truck, but we've covered nearly 300 miles, 2 antique shops, a subway, Hot Springs, Lake Degray, and a Mexican restaurant. Plus a piece of another state: Texas. Essentially, we woke up, ate breakfast, packed and headed out of Cabin #2. Drive drive drive, then we got to Funky Junky. More driving, then antique shop number 2. We stopped for Lunch, eventually, at Subway. We went the wrong way a couple of times today but we made it to Hot Springs around 3:30 pm. We walked a couple blocks, visited another Antique shop, then went to the Wax museum. I had an epiphany today while staring at the wax figures of Princess Diana and Elizabeth II: Life, for our souls, is so short. As I looked at over a hundred well made wax figures of people who are dead and gone today, I realized no matter how perfectly someone can recreate our bodies one day, our souls can never be restored. Having a beautiful soul matters much more than a beautiful body, BEFORE AND AFTER DEATH. (This was reinforced when I saw a skinny Bill Clinton).
After leaving Hot Springs, we drove through Lake Degray which is North of Arkadelphia. We stopped to eat at a little Mexican Restaurant called El Toreres. Finally we just drove and drove until we reached Texarkana. We drove a 30 minutes circle around where we were staying but we finally got here to settle in for the night. No telling what Texarkana may hold, but today the travel vibes have been strong. Even if I felt boredom in a car for a couple of hours, today I learned something. After all, that is what traveling is for. |
